[Swords & Wizardry] New Spell: Stirring the pot

Stirring the pot

I don’t really have a snappy little bit of flavor text for this one, it is really a utility spell that could turn a profit or keep henchmen around.

Stirring the pot (Arcane)

Level 1

Range: Close

Duration: Immediate, the results are good for three hours

While this spell does not create food, it turns basic ingredients into a savory stew. The magic user needs to put the components of a soup or stew into a pot (vegetables, and water at least, meat, even raw, if desired) and the spell heats these to a boil instantly, without flame or fire and the result is a delicious stew that will be good for three hours afterwards. There is no need for herbs or spices, each person trying this concoction will find the stew tastes wonderful and is perfectly seasoned to their taste. The spell makes up to five gallons of soup or stew.

Note: This is a great way to keep up the morale of hirelings and the disgruntled.

Hehe, y’see I can’t help but like ‘little’ spells like this one, ones that you can really imagine belong in some fantasy world, but the magic-user grumbling that his high art of sorcery is reduced to serving slop for the hired help, hehe.

    Spot on man, very good.

  2. bat says:

Thank you, Lizardfolk. That is the idea: the party might need to keep some peasants from revolting, hirelings from bolting or just bluff their way passed someone or something. A king will find the taste as pleasant as an orc warlord.
