Less Chancy Games
The Captain of the Guard eyed the Scholar of Wexos suspiciously. “Those cards aren't marked, are they?” he asked the illusionist. “Why no, no they aren't, just a streak of luck, I suppose,” the Scholar of Wexos replied. “Luck, sure,” grumbled the Captain of the Guard as he handed over more silver. “I wish I had a spell like that!” Valance whispered to Chalk. “Think of the money we would have!” “If you had spell like that!” Chalk whispered back. “We would have all been hanged years ago!” Valance sulked in his chair.
Less Chancy Games (Illusionist)
Duration: One turn per level of illusionist.
The Less Chancy Games spell allows an illusionist to imbue some type of gaming equipment (usually cards, chess pieces or dice) to favor the caster. For the duration of the spell the illusionist will roll a d8 to resolve any “turn” in a game or to deduce the final outcome of a game of strategy. A result of 3-8 means that the illusionist has won that round or that game. This is a quick way of resolving in game games of chance with a magical twist. Note that short of dispelling this magic the Less Chancy Games spell will run for the full duration and winning so often might cause suspicion and blades being drawn.
