[New Monster] Akolita: the Burning Bones

Akolita: the Burning Bones

“Anything yet?” Chalk called out to Koram who was staring down into the valley below.

“Yes!” I see something happening! A building has just caught on fire! And another!” the fighter replied excitedly.

“Do you see what is causing it!” the wizard asked.

“It looks like….. a flaming skeleton wreathed in flame!” Koram answered.

“What should we do?” asked Knat.

“I suggest laying low and not getting its attention,” replied the wizard.

Akolita are strange humanoid creatures from the Lower Planes that are neither demon or devil, in fact, they are more elemental than anything else. Akolita appear as burning humanoid skeletons in flaming garments that have a skull like an oversized jackal or large war dog. The cunning creatures are summoned by wizards bent on destruction and chaos for the akolita use magic to burn everything that they are able to before returning to their fiery realm.

In combat akolita prefer to use their spell-like abilities to cast, once per day: Heat Metal, Pyrotechnics, Flash Fire, Wall of Fire and Fire Seeds as if cast by an 8th level Druid and Burning Hands, Manipulate Fire, Fireball, Lower Water and Limited Wish as if cast by an 8th level Magic-User, making these truly formidable monsters. Many wizards have reported having a tough time controlling the akolita. These creatures, while elemental, are from the Lower Planes and conjured by the Summon Demon spell.
