[New Magic Item] Dust of Rabbits

Dust of Rabbits

A clamor could be heard among the orc thugs and then silence.

Koram turned to the others.

Nudge tried to conceal laughter. The gnome’s trap had gone off as expected.

Perfect!” snarled Valance.

The priest of the Spider God began summoning rather large spiders to chase the rabbits.

Wild-eyed, the rabbits scattered, hopping for their lives as they saw the enormous spiders scuttling into view.

Maybe not the scariest magic item from one point of view, from another, being suddenly turned into a rabbit can ruin a party’s day. Often encountered when you least expect it. Gnome thieves are notorious for using Dust of Rabbits in traps that suddenly flip a handful of the magical powder into a victim’s face.

Benefit: Anyone living under 4HD have Dust of Rabbits blown or flipped into their face must make a save versus spell-like devices at -2 or be suddenly transformed into a rabbit for 1d4 hours. Creatures above 4HD make a standard save versus spell-like devices. Those changed have 1HD, move at 180′ (60′) and has a bite or kick attack that does 1d4 points of damage. If the person is killed in rabbit form they simply appear back in their original form at a random location up to one mile from the spot where the rabbit fell.

A most interesting item, the perfect booby trap when you don’t want to kill or cripple the opponent but just get them out of the way for awhile.

Thank you! I figure it also comes in handy when one wants to go hunting wabbits.

    Try this out for laughs…

Defendant is dragged before the court charged with all sorts of crimes. “But your honor”, the defendant cries, “I couldn’t have done any of those things!”
    Judge: “Why?”
Defendant: “Because I was a rabbit all day!”
Judge shakes his head as he signs the commitment papers.

  4. bat says:

Ha! Man, I wish I had some of this stuff in real life….

The perfect revenge for people who steal your food; put this in it and leave it to be “borrowed”…
