The sorcerer Stork watched the town’s guard attack the growling ogre. With a few muttered words the ogre seemed to suddenly have a surge of rage and attack with more anger than ever. Meanwhile Stork slipped up behind the angered humanoid and struck the creature a deft strike with his magical dagger. With a howl of pain the ogre clutched at its wound and fell.
Stork eyed the guardsmen.
“My quarters will need to be guarded night and day while I am in this town.”
The thankful town militia nodded enthusiastically.
Range: 20′ per level of caster
This spell is usually cast by lower level magi to distract attention from themselves or others and by higher level wizards to protect those with fewer defenses. The caster determines a target within range and casts the spell, the subject of the spell will focus their attention on anyone they are currently in combat with (even if this is the caster) and ignore others in the area. This gives the target of the spell +1 to hit due to their sudden ferocity, but gives the caster +2 to hit and +2 damage and an additional +1 to hit if striking from behind.
