[New Spell] Distraction Bug

Distraction Bug

Those guards never move it seems!” lamented the priest of the Spider God.

We still need to get in there. Hold on, I think I have an idea,” replied the wizard.

Whispering a quick spell, Chalk pointed at one of the stoic guards.

From the folds of his tunic erupted an angry looking hornet, a creature not of this world. Without hesitation the infernal thing flew at the guard that the wizard had indicated.

Seconds later the guard began flailing his arms and swatting at the devil bug while his companion at first laughing, suddenly became concerned and tried helping the poor victim of this sudden foe.

While the guards were busy trying to get the creature from under a piece of shoulder armor the priest and wizard quietly sneaked into the jails of the Emperor of Klavish-Dral.

That was easy!” exclaimed Valance.

A low grumbling ahead told of another guard, quite possibly not human.

And this is what I was saving my spiders for!” the priest said, rubbing his hands together.

Distraction Bug (Arcane)

Level 1

Range: 10’/level of caster

Duration: Instantaneous

This spell conjures a hideous looking infernal flying insect from some hellish realm. The insect is about the size of the average human thumb, and is always agitated, The caster quite often directs this creature to attack a particular target within range. The bite or sting of this beast only does 1d4 points of damage, but the creature looks so alarming that anyone seeing this thing coming at them must make a saving throw vs. spells at -2 or be compelled to swat at and try to kill this dreadful bug (although as these things usually land on their victims and get under their armor, which often draws all of one’s attention to killing the thing anyway) which takes a lot of focus and makes all other rolls at this time -3. Due to their small size a distraction bug is -2 to strike in combat and has d4 hit points thanks to it’s hard carapace.

Optional: If the target of the spell does make their saving throw, roll a d6. On a result of 1 or 2 the distraction bug attacks the caster.
