About a foot in diameter, glow beetles are ambling and slow scuttling and clumsy fliers at best, often bumbling into walls as they pursue their prey. Unintelligent and lacking great dexterity, why do those encountering these giant insects fear them? Because these big beetles Leave a glowing chemical trail up to ten feet behind them. These bizarre emanation is simple a chemical trail these creatures emit when chasing prey, however it also gets the attention of everything in line of site that something edible is near. It is thought that smarter creatures herd glow beetles into certain areas to alert them when a meal is approaching.
