Attract Humanoid Thug
Something big came crashing through the trees, it could be heard some distance away.
The beast broke through the line of small ash and cedars, it was huge, like a cross between a bulldog and a toad, with a trio of orcs on its back.
‘Vistis, have you any ideas?’ inquired Stork as the giant sized crossbow swung to point at Stork’s chest.
The illusionist immediately dropped a pile of shiny coins and gems on the ground. Vistis tilted his head at the orcs, his face obscured by a heavily lacquered mask.
The trio hesitated a moment in their recklessness and chatted amongst themselves.
‘No hurt two wizards for that,’ one of the orcs said, pointing at the treasure on the ground.
‘Fair enough,’ replied Stork as he and Vistis faded into the trees, their hands up.
Chalk turned to The Scholar of Wexos, the duo were on a ledge above the scene below.
‘It started out looking promising, then Vistis paid them off,’ the wizard said.
‘At least it bought us a little time, that scroll wasn’t a total waste,’ said the illusionist.
‘True,’ replied Chalk. ‘However those two will now be madder than ever at us.’
Attract Humanoid Thug (Arcane)
Range: 50′ +5’/level
When cast this spell attracts the attention of 4HD-6HD of riled humanoids native to the area (the orc can be used as a standard creature summoned as well) to a certain point within line of sight and within range of the spell. The humanoids will engage with the target of the spell, but be careful, this spell is meant to distract and buy time for the caster and/or his or her cohorts, those summoned bullies might be enticed to work for the enemy.
There is a 25% chance that a monstrous mount will also be called, this creature will have an additional 5HD and a bite/claw attack that deals 2d6 points of damage and this beast has an AC of 6 and a move of 150′ (50′). This mount might also house a ballista that deals 2d10 points of damage and is operated by at least two of the humanoid thugs.
