[New Spell] Carnivorize

Valance laughed heartily as the adventurers fought for their lives.

‘That’s a little inappropriate all things considered,’ Chalk commented as he tried to avoid being gored by a stag.

‘Maybe, but normally we are trying to eat venison, it isn’t trying to eat us,’ the priest of the Spider God replied.

‘Point taken,’ the wizard said as he cast a spell at the strange carnivorous deer.

Carnivorize (Magic-User)

Level 4

Range: 60′ + 10’/level

Duration: One hour per level of caster.

This bizarre spell allows the caster to transform vegetarian creatures into voracious meat eaters for the duration of the spell. These altered animals will attack anyone not with the spellcaster and his or her party. Up to 12 HD worth of normal animals may be transformed in this way. After the spell’s duration elapses the animals will revert back to their normal diet with no lasting effects.

Option: 25% of the time the duration is permanent and the creatures become a feral menace.

Nice one! It has that hint of horror for a good sword and sorcery feel.

So that’s where the Dread Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog came from! If you’re enchanting a single creature of less than 12HD does it gain any bonus HD during the spell? Might explain why the rabbit was so dynamite!

Thanks a million for the comments, guys! And David, I see it as up to, however you can interpret the spell as you wish. 🙂
