Around the Corner Spear
Navnen jumped as the blunt end of the spear bent around the corner and jabbed him in the ribs.
‘Now!’ a voice hissed.
‘Okay, okay, I’m going,’ replied the thief.
Gingerly Navnen slipped across the shadows of the small courtyard and began working the lock of the duke’s door.
‘Not bad,’ Koram Whispered to Chalk. ‘Surely I wouldn’t trade my Crystal Sword for one of these, but it is handy for getting attention.’
Chalk nodded in agreement as he waited for a sign from Navnen that the lock had been picked.
Thought to be an invention of a clever goblin wizard, the ‘Around the Corner Spear’ is a great boon to crafty fighters, thieves and others that can use a long spear. Like most magic items, these are highly coveted and sell for several gold pieces.
Benefit: This enchanted spear can, at the wielder’s whim, bend at the shaft around corners up to a 45° angle at any point along the shaft, able to bend only once at time. This can be used from either end, to jab or to poke, and can be used for other things as well, for example as handles on a rope zipline. The amount of times that the spear can be used like this is endless. In combat this long spear deals 1d8+2 points of damage.
Usable by: Anyone who can wield a long spear.
