That Revealing Shadow
The court wizard looked shocked as the king’s own guard shackled him in manacles.
‘What is the meaning of this?’ he demanded.
‘Isn’t it obvious, fiend?’ the captain of the royal guards asked as he pointed at the mage’s shadow, revealing a devilish image.
‘The Grand Inquisitor will find the answers to those questions and more, I am sure,’ the captain replied.
As the court wizard looked from face to face in a panic he saw the smiling visage of the strange troubadour looking at him.
‘You!’ the wizard howled.
The guardsmen dragged the mage off to the dungeons while the odd minstrel tuned his lute and whistled idly.
In time it was he who would bend the king’s ear.
That Revealing Shadow (Illusionist)
Range: Self or Touch (follows target)
Duration: One turn (ten minutes) per level.
A simple illusionist spell with sinister (or celestial) implications, this spell alters the shadow of one target (or the illusionist themselves) to look like anything the caster desires- a demon, an angel, a lycanthrope, an alien, anyting the caster wishes. The result is that the target of the spell may be seen as an imposter, a secret savior, a werewolf in human form, a changeling or anything else. This causes the perceived Charisma to be either +2 or -2 for the duration of the spell.
