[New Spell] Curse-The Burden You Bear

Curse: The Burden You Bear

Fellhorn laughed as the gnome dragged the large round rock. The short illusionist grimaced at both the weight and the mockery.

‘It is slowing us all down, this curse,’ grumbled the elf.

‘Sorry,’ the gnome replied.

‘This will teach you to gamble with that priest of the Spider God and try to cheat!’ Fellhorn bellowed.

The gnome frowned and kept dragging the rock along.

Curse: The Burden You Bear (Arcane/Divine)

Level 3

Range: Touch

Duration: One year and a day or until dispelled.

With this curse the subject of the spell is trapped carrying an additional weight (up to 30 lbs for Small characters, 50 lbs for Medium characters and 85 lbs for Large characters) that can be living or a substance like stone or glass or anything the one bestowing the curse chooses. The cursed one must keep this burden within 3′ at all times (and actually cannot move further than 3′ away) and must carry it with them. If the curse is dispelled before a year and a day the cursed person is simply relieved of the curse, if, however, the cursed person manages to bear the burden for one year and a day the curse is lifted and the subject may choose to raise either Str, Dex or Wis by one point permanently.

  1. The best burden to bestow with this curse would be an actual bear. A big, fat, lazy, irritable bear who only bestirs itself to root thru the party’s packs and eat all the rations.
I suppose in Valance’s case a big, floppy legged tarantula would be an adequate substitute.

Ha! Good call on that! I wanted to make a weird curse that could be either serious or silly, depending on the mood of the game.
