A Few Coins A Day
Valance caught up to the priest of the Dread Moon.
‘Where did you learn that curse?’ the priest of the Spider God asked.
‘In the sacred text of the Temple of Shadows, why do you ask?’ answered the other cleric.
‘I really need to learn that one,’ Valance said.
The priest of the Dread Moon smiled.
‘And….’ Valance started.
‘Yes?’ asked the other priest.
‘Can I have my coins back?
The priest of the Dread Moon grumbled and gave Valance his five gold pieces back.
‘That’s all?’ a puzzled Valance asked.
‘From me. You will have to ask the priests of the Shadow King for the rest,’ the cleric replied to Valance.
A Few Coins A Day (Arcane/Divine)
Duration: One year and one day or until dispelled.
This minor curse claims a few coins each day from the victim. Starting with the most valuable coin type, each day the one who cast the curse rolls 1d6 and he or she gains this many coins from the victim, This can lead to a racket in which multiple individuals are cursed and/or one individual is cursed by many casters, although each caster can only curse their victim once at a time. A cabal of wizards can bankrupt a duke or princeling if given access to them. Once this curse is realized the subject often pays a hefty fee (sometimes to the one that cursed them) to remove it.
