[New Monster] Groglan

Valance groaned as a crossbow bolt hit him in the shoulder.

Chalk threw a spell at the goblin with the crossbow, causing the small humaoid to scream and drop its weapon.

‘Are you okay?’ Chalk asked Valance.

‘I can still summon spiders,’ he said through gritted teeth.

Moments later the ruins were crawling with large, frightening spiders that the priest of the Spider God urged to attack the odd two-headed goblin that was barking orders to those around him.

The groglan laughed and cast its own spell that set many of the arachnids on fire. The duet of laughing heads sudenly stopped when the creature saw that the spiders were still coming at it. With a hand crossbow in one hand and a short sword in the other the creature leaped at the spiders.

Koram and Navnen ran onto the scene, weapons drawn and the two-headed goblin called for his warband to retreat into the ruins.

‘What took you two so long?’ Valance asked as he pulled the crossbow bolt from his shoulder.

‘We figured that you two could handle a handful of goblins, so we had another aleor maybe three,’ Navnen replied with a grin.

‘Under normal circumstances maybe, but that two-headed goblin is smarter than the others,’ Chalk said with a scowl.

Unusual consequences of Chaos, the groglan are rare, two-headed goblins that lurk deep underground or, rarely, seek the surface to pillage and plunder, often leading a warband of their fellow goblins and even an orc bandit or two, often wearing heavy armor to do so. Smarter than the average goblin, orc or ogre, these creatures are not slain when discovered yet are feared for their abilities and intelligence throughout their lives. Every groglan knows four random spells, either magic-user or illusionist, that they can cast as a 6th level of experience. Unusual for goblinoids, these two heads work in unison and do not argue amongst themselves, as is rumored to happen with multi-headed ogres, giants and trolls. Their unusual intelligence and command over other goblinoids make these formidable foes as sometimes these creatures can gather small armies around them. It is not unusual for these creatures two wield either two weapons or one two-handed weapon which they receive a +2 to hit and damage with.
