Koram looked around the common room of the inn and looked into his tankard.
‘Did someone put…’ the fighter began.
‘No, it is the spell the illusionist cast on you so we would know who was after us,’ whispered Navnen,
‘It’s those two ogres,’ the fighter said as he nodded towards two average sized humans eyeing them from the bar. One nudged the other and both got up, facing them.
Navnen kicked a chair over as they approached as Chalk and Valance coordinated spells that bound the pair of assassins and set spiders crawling all over them.
The screaming was disturbing as the spiders crawled under their clothing.
‘Let’s find out who hired them,’ suggested Valance with a devilish grin.
Enlarged Aggressors (Illusionist)
Range: Self or Touch.
Duration: One turn (ten minutes) per level of caster.
A spell that is both helpful and unnerving it causes the target to perceive all real and immediate threats as larger than life, appearing to be 25% larger and with terrifying and intimidating attributes, features and even weapons. While this is a handy alert to anyone who has evil intentions, this also causes anyone attempting to attack one of these over-sized opponents to make a Save versus Paralyzation to do so. Failure means that the one affected by this spell must flee the area until the spell has lapsed while success means that he or she may attack normally.
Note: Only the one affected by this spell sees the altered enemies and must point them out if they are not already obvious for other reasons.
