Amulet of the Tarrying Voice
‘Here I am!’ squeaked the voice of the gnome illusionist from a collection of shrubbery.
The troll grunted and prodded the bushes with its club.
‘Or am I behind you?’ the gnome was heard again, just behind the troll.
Before the monstrous humanoid could turn around a wall of fire was on one side and three flaming arrows caught the brush on the other side of the troll on fire which burned much too hot to be from normal arrows.
Screaming in angush and despair the troll fell in the flames created by druid and elf ranger.
‘What do you think of that charm now?’ the gnome illusionist asked.
‘I like it much better now than when you used it to annoy me,’ replied the elf.
‘That is true,’ agreed Fellhorn the druid.
This small silver charm is shaped like a smiling mouth with two eyes with green gemstones for irises atop the mouth looking towards the left which apparently is ‘back’ to the enchanter of these magic items,
Benefit: Three times per day the bearer of this charm may cause their voice to be delayed, being heard up to one turn later (amulet owner’s choice) in the area in which the words were spoken. This ‘voice out of time’ can seem like an auditory illusion except that the voice is that of the charm’s owner and not anyone else unless the bearer is skilled at mimicry.
Usable by: Anyone.
