Trap Door Drop
Uzeb the Wise closed his eyes, absorbing the new spell into his mind.
‘Learned new magic?’ asked Jaundo the fighter.
‘Yes, I did,’ replied the sorcerer.
‘Sock it…’ began Jaundo, but before he could finish the wizard made a motion and the fighter fell into a pit as the floor gave way beneath him.
‘I told you NOT to say that to me ever again,’ Uzeb said curtly.
‘What do I do now?’ asked the fighter from the cell he was standing in underground.
‘Apparently you wait for the spell to wear off and think about what you say to spellcasters,’ the wizard replied.
Jaundo sat and grumbled until Uzeb dispelled the spell before it had time to lapse.
Trap Door Drop(Arcane)
Level 2
Range: 10’+5’/level.
Duration: 1d4 turns for the spell to lapse unless dispelled.
When cast the magic-user must make a motion as if pulling an invisible lever. One target, size Large or smaller, within range then must make a Save vs Spells with a -1 modifier or drop 12′ down into a square pit trap with smooth sides. If there is a floor beneath the target falls down to the floor of that level, otherwise they are impeded by the floor trap for 1d4 turns or until they can get out. While mostly an spell used to hinder it can be used for quick egress to a lower level.
This would be fun on a bridge… 😀
Over a river of acid!
A lake of lava!
Cruel!
